Vision
A creative hub at the heart of NOAAM, the AFS Curatorial Studio celebrates the intersection of art, culture, and technology. It is the cornerstone of Afrofuture Society, designed to incubate artists and curators who imagine bold futures for Black communities while preserving cultural legacies.
Purpose
Elevate Afrofuturism as a lens for cultural expression and liberation
Support artists and curators through fellowships, stipends, and incubations
Create immersive exhibitions and workshops that connect history to visionary futures
Core Activities
Artist Fellowships: 2–3 fellows annually supported with stipends and exhibition opportunities
Interactive Exhibitions: Installations bridging past, present, and future cultural narratives
Educational Workshops: Programming for students, teachers, and the public that integrates Afrofuturist practice into learning
Archiving & Documentation: Digital storytelling, recording, and preserving exhibitions as part of NOAAM’s collection
