The Cartography Project: Black Futures

  • New Orleans African American Museum 1417 Governor Nicholls Street New Orleans, LA, 70116 United States (map)

The Kennedy Center’s Cartography Project is a multi-year commissioning project engaging artists from around the nation to map Black dignity. The 2023 iteration of the project will focus on Black Futures by commissioning community composers in cities around the nation. We’re excited to illuminate the work of Charles Lumar II, as our commissioned community composer. Join us to hear Charles in discussion amongst local musical luminaries, admission is free and light faire will be provided.
